Thomas Jackson Hewitt (Jackie) MBE. Died August 8th 2024. With Deepest Sympathy and Sincere Condolences from everyone at the Shankill Mirror.
Fondest memories of the discussions and debates with Jackie, Jimmy Creighton, Jim McDonald and others during the infancy of the Shankill Mirror, a community newspaper born from a protest at the neglect of working class communities by mainstream media and government. The paper is still here 25 years later thanks to the determination of folk like Jackie Hewitt.
At peace.
