Granda Gilmore –
We really miss you granda and we wish that you were here,
to hug us with your loving arms and lend a kindly ear.
Life goes on as always but things seem out of place,
now we can’t call on you or see your smiling face.
Although its really painful to think that you are gone,
we know you're in a better place when all is said and done.
We never will forget you and we’ll never be apart,
in all the special memories we keep inside our heart.

For our Granda -
We look back in fondness everyday, at the joyful times we had,
no one else could be so special as our wonderful granda.
You carried us from we were kids, and held our hands so tight,
you nurtured and treasured us everyday and taught us wrong from right,
the memories we have of you will never fade.
Our picnics and days out were never hard to grade,
you are like no-one else granda, and you really were the best.
Even though this sadness aches, we know it is time for you to rest,
but we want you to hear us granda, although you are out of sight,
we will use the lessons that you taught forever, our guiding light.
Now fly high our little butterfly.

As our family angels gathered near your side so close to you,
for they know the pain and suffering that you were going through.
I thought about so many things as I held tightly to your hand,
Oh how I wished that you were strong and happy once again,
but your eyes were looking homeward to that place beyond the sky,
where Jesus held his outstretched arms, it was time to say goodbye.
I struggled with my selfish thoughts for I wanted you to stay,
so we could walk and talk again just like we did yesterday,
but Jesus knew the answer, I knew you loved him so,
so I gave to you life’s greatest gift, the gift of letting go.
