Died at home April 24, 2024. Beloved husband of Isabella, loving father to Orlaith, Nuala, Séan, Cormac and Eoghan and a loving grandfather and great grandfather.

His remains will leave 16 Pim Street on Monday April 29th for 10.00am Mass in St Patrick’s Church, Donegall Street.
Burial afterwards at Milltown Cemetery.

Goddess of Mercy and all the Saints watch over him.

May he rest in peace.

Desperately sorry to hear of Sam's passing, we go back a long way and I was very fond of all the family. I first heard the uilleann pipes played by Sam, although he was a master flute maker, and when he sold his pipes in Dublin he kindly helped fund me when I hadn't enough to get my own out of customs. It had been a few years since we had met in Galway and I wondered where he was so we lost touch.
Im sorry I can't be there today but you are all very much in my mind the passing of a very large part of my formative years in music, along with Carssy and MacAloon should be a great session...remembering you all fondly
