McLaughlin Samuel Patrick (Sammy) peacefully at home 22nd January 2024.

Beloved husband of Anna, much loved brother of Noel and May, cherished uncle of Gail and Paul.

A Prayer Service will be held at the family home on Tuesday 30th January at 2.00 p.m. followed by Cremation at Roselawn Crematorium, 127 Ballygowan Road, Belfast, BT5 7TZ at 3.20 p.m.

No flowers please. Donations in lieu, if desired, direct to Northern Ireland Hospice, 18 O'Neill Road, Glengormley, Newtownabbey, BT36 6WB or online via https://nihospice.org

Tired and weary you made no fuss, you tried so hard to stay with us, God closed your eyes and gave you rest, for He alone knows what is best.

Deeply regretted by his loving family and family circle.

Sammy, you and Anna rescued me when I needed somewhere to stay in Dunedin. I came in and completely upended your quiet lives and you never complained! We had such fun times together.

Although we only met later in life you have always been there for me and the girls, you are one of the kindest, most genuine people I have ever known. I am so sorry I didn’t get the chance to say goodbye to you.

You will always live in the hearts of the children and I and we will treasure the memories of the South Island trip for the rest of our lives.

Thank you for everything you and Anna did for me.

A man who had a knack for making people laugh, usually unintentionally!
A man who didn’t suffer fools gladly.
A man whose wisdom I will miss, immeasurably.
