The death has occurred of:
Robert (Bertie) DOHERTY
We, the family of the late Robert (Bertie) Doherty, would like to express our sincere thanks for the love, support, help and kindness shown to us during our recent bereavement.
We would like to thank our extended family; friends; work colleagues; our daddy’s friends and our neighbours (past and present) for being a huge support to us during this difficult time.
Sincere thanks to all who called or helped out at the wake; brought gifts; sent floral tributes; offered prayers/Masses and sent Mass and sympathy cards and messages of condolences. Thank you to everyone who attended the funeral, especially those who travelled long distances to be there.
We would like to thank Fr. Canny for your pastoral care during our daddy’s short illness, for attending his wake for family prayers and celebrating his Funeral Mass. We would like to thank Noel, Karron and Kevin for your heartfelt readings. We appreciated it so much. We would also like to thank Eoghan, Abigail, Conán and Ryan for presenting the Offertory gifts at such a sad time for you all. Your Granda would be so proud. We would like to thank Sinead and Damien for the beautiful singing and music at the Mass.
Thanks also to Cassidys for providing the catering and lovely food after our daddy’s funeral.
Thank you to the doctors, especially Dr. Boyle and Dr. O’Flaherty, the district nurses and admin staff of Glendermott Medical for your kindness, compassion and the care shown to our daddy at all times over the years. We would like to thank the Acute Care at Home Team for the care and support during his short illness and the paramedics who attended to him. Also, we would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of Ward 24 Altnagelvin Hospital for the care and kindness shown to both our daddy and ourselves.
Finally, we would like to thank W.J. O’Brien and Son for the dignified and professional manner in which you carried out the funeral arrangements, especially Kieran and Noeleen. Knowing the arrangements were in such good hands was a great help and allowed us more precious time with our daddy and loved ones.
As it is impossible to thank everyone individually, we trust this acknowledgement will be accepted by all as an expression of our sincere appreciation and gratitude. Your kindness will always be remembered.
Damien, Liam, Gráinne and Mary.
Bertie’s Month’s Mind Mass will be celebrated at St. Columb’s Church, Chapel Road, Waterside, Derry on Thursday 18th July at 7.30pm.
