The death has occurred of:
Richard EDWARDS
We, Richard’s wife Rosie and daughters Alison and Amanda would like to thank everyone for their love and support at the sudden loss of our dear husband, daddy, granda, father-in-law, uncle, brother and brother in law.
To all of our family, friends and community who called to the home to express their sympathy, sent mass cards, floral tributes and donations to air ambulance. We thank those who brought food and refreshments to the house, especially The Sandwich Co Lisnagelvin, McMullan Foods, The Bakery, Ebrington , Bridies Takeaway Strathfoyle and the Spar Shop, Strathfoyle. Thanks to Strathfoyle Community Association for supplying chairs and catering equipment.
To the clergy Fr Canny for Richard's Requiem Mass and Fr Lagan and Father Sean for your presence and words of comfort.
Thank you to voices of the Foyle Choir for providing the beautiful and emotional music.
A heartfelt thanks to the paramedics, air ambulance and surgeons at the Royal Victoria Hospital who were with Richard at the end.
Thank you to W.J. O Brien & Son Funeral Directors, Eglinton, for their professional and dignified care of Richard throughout.
As it is impossible to thank everyone individually, we ask that you take this acknowledgment as a sincere and heartfelt thanks from us to you all.
You never said I’m leaving,
You never said goodbye,
You were gone before we knew it,
And only God knows why.
A million times we’ve needed you,
A million times we’ve cried,
If love alone could have saved you,
You never would have died.
In life we loved you dearly,
In death we love you still,
In our hearts you hold a place,
That no one could ever fill.
It broke our hearts to lose you,
But you didn’t go alone,
For part of us went with you,
The day God took you home.
Richard’s months mind mass will take place at St. Oliver Plunkett chapel on Friday 26th July at 7pm. All welcome.
