The death has occurred of:
Peter MONAGHAN
The Daughter Geraldine, Son-in-law Peter and Granddaughters Aislinn and Grainne of the late Peter Monaghan (R.I.P.) who passed away on 24th October 2024 wish to express their heartfelt thanks to all those who sympathised with them in their recent sad bereavement.
Special thanks to all our Relatives, Friends and Neighbours who provided much practical and emotional support to our family. Words cannot express how much your kindness and thoughtfulness meant to us.
We are indebted to all those who called to our home, sent cards and floral tributes, provided food, helped during the wake, assisted with parking and attended the Funeral. We took great comfort from your prayers and support.
The family would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the wonderful carers who attended Peter with kindness and love so diligently over the years.
Thank you also to Peter’s siblings and extended family circle, special friends and neighbours who called and visited Peter particularly in more recent years.
The care and compassion provided by the staff from the Oaks Family Practice, the District Community team and also McAleer’s Pharmacy Pomeroy towards Peter over the last number of years has been exceptional. Thank you.
To Fr Lawrence Boyle, Fr Brian Slater and Deacon Eamon Quinn we extend our sincere gratitude and appreciation for your guidance and support throughout, to Fr Slater for the beautiful celebration of Requiem Mass, and Deacon Quinn for the lovely prayers at removal from the chapel.
Thanks to Justin McGurk and Patrick Slevin for your singing and music, and also to everyone who participated in the Liturgy of the Mass.
A special word of thanks to the Sacristan Margaret for preparing the Church, and to Stephen Mallon for providing the beautiful floral arrangements.
Niall A Loughran Funeral Directors- thank you for the caring, professional and dignified manner in which the funeral arrangements were carried out.
Special thanks to Michael McElhatton and the staff of the Greenvale Hotel who provided refreshments after the burial. To the volunteers of the Rock Community Hub, thank you for giving your time and assistance so willingly at such a difficult time for us.
Thank you to the staff at Lakelands crematorium for your efficient service.
As it would be impossible to thank everyone personally who was so kind to us, we trust that this acknowledgement will be accepted by all as a token of our sincere appreciation.
Peter’s Month’s Mind Mass will be celebrated on Sunday 24th November at 10:30am in St John’s Church, Slatequarry. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions.
Peter’s ashes will be interred in the adjoining cemetery after Mass.
Anyone wishing to attend is very welcome.
