Michael Higgins
We the family of the late Michael Higgins who passed away on the 20th August 2024 wish to express our sincere gratitude to all who sympathised with us during our bereavement.
We would like to especially thank our entire family circle, friends, neighbours and everyone who helped in any way. Also those who attended the wake, brought food, sent mass and sympathy cards, sent online messages, attended the funeral and viewed online. It gave us great comfort knowing that Michael was so well loved and thought off.
A special thank you to Fr. McGuigan and Fr. Tremer for their monthly spiritual attendance with Michael up to his passing, and also the support given to our family. Thanks to Fr. Tremer for the compassionate manner in which he conducted the Requiem Mass, and allowed us to celebrate Michael’s life.
Thanks to Siobhan O’Neill and Plunkett McGartland for the beautiful singing and music during the mass.
We send our grateful thanks and appreciation to all the health care professionals involved in Michael’s care over the years, the district nurses, Speech and Language and Occupational therapists, and community carers (NHSCT).
Thanks to Doctor Dalzell, her colleagues and staff of Coagh Medical Centre for their compassion, empathy and professional support towards Michael and our family.
We are very grateful to Magherafelt Learning disability team for their genuine and unwavering dedication to Michael. Also, the staff of Cookstown Adult Centre for their dedication, compassion, empathy and family support during Michael’s attendance there. This had a huge and positive impact on Michael.
A special thanks to the pharmacists and staff of Fall’s Chemist Cookstown, for their invaluable service, patience and advice.
To all the staff of Ward A1 at Antrim Area Hospital. We want to express our heartfelt appreciation for the care and support provided to Michael and our family during Michael’s final days.
Our sincere thanks to Lavery’s Funeral Directors for their professional, compassionate and dignified manner in arranging Michael’s funeral at a very difficult time. Also, for their kindness and support shown to our family.
Thanks to the grave diggers for preparing Michael’s final resting place.
Also thanks to the staff of Ardboe Community Centre and Superb Platters for providing the food following the funeral.
Grateful thanks to the kind neighbours and the car parking team from Ardboe GFC for traffic management throughout the wake.

Michael’s Months Mind Mass will be celebrated on Saturday 21st September 2024 at 6pm in the Church of the Blessed Sacrament, Ardboe.
