The death has occurred of:
Malachy Copeland
Sarah, Malachy’s wife, would like to thank all those who loved Malachy during his life and especially those who supported Malachy throughout his illness. Hospital stays were lightened by good company, German biscuits and cheesecakes! My heartfelt thanks to family, friends, neighbours and work colleagues of both Malachy and me. I am overwhelmed by the kindness of those who called at our home, sent mass cards, sympathy messages, donated to Macmillan Buddy Scheme/Hospice Community Care and attended Malachy’s funeral. This was made so special by the singing of Clodagh Gribben. Thank you to Father Robert McMahon, Saul and An tAth Brian O’Fearraigh SP, Gaoth Dobhair for doing their utmost to bring comfort at this most difficult time. A special word of thanks to Willie, Stephen, John, Christopher, Luke and Rita. I am most grateful to Charles Rourke & Sons Funeral Directors, particularly Marty, whom Malachy asked to look after him. I am deeply touched by the care shown to Malachy and your understanding of my need to remain by his side until laid to rest in our beloved Donegal. Malachy appreciated the District Nurses, Sean Sealey and Oliver who were steadfast in their kindness. Finally thank you Catherine, Imelda, Ita, Orla and families for making Malachy smile even on his darkest days. He never ceased to be moved by your love for him, nor your attempts to become the favourite! Malachy’s Month’s Mind Mass will be celebrated on Sunday 8th September in St Tassach’s Church, Carlin at 12 noon. Go dté tú slán, Love always, Sarah
