The family of the late Joe Sloan wishes to express sincere thanks to all who sympathised and supported us following the loss of our much loved husband, father and grandfather.

Grateful thanks to our family, friends, neighbours and wider community who supported us during the wake and funeral and who helped out in any way, we greatly appreciated it.

Thanks also to all those who sent mass and sympathy cards, texts, flowers, telephoned, left messages on Facebook and donated to Marie Currie, NI Hospice and Friends of the Cancer Centre.

Thanks to Father Brian Brown for his spiritual support, prayers and lovely Funeral Mass and to Sarah McVeigh for the beautiful singing.
Also thanks to Fr Ciaran Dallat for calling to the house and for his comforting words and prayers.
Sincere thanks to Ciaran and all the staff at Seamus Fitzsimons’s Funeral Directors for their advice and the professional and dignified manner in which they carried out all the funeral arrangements.

Thanks to all the consultants, especially Dr David Donaldson, and the staff of Ward 10 North, The Bridgewater Suite in the City Hospital, the Macular Unit in the Mater and Royal Victoria Hospital and Trish Casement and all the carers at Kingdom Healthcare who cared for Joe during his illness. Also Oliver Mallon of N.I. Hospice, Marie Curie staff and volunteers and the District Nurses and Dr Watson in Montalto who attended Joe in his last few weeks. Their care was unbelievable.

Thanks also to Loughinisland Gaelic Club and the staff from French's for providing refreshments following the funeral.

Also thanks to the gravediggers Philip Stranney and Paddy McEvoy who carried out their work and left Joe's grave in such an immaculate condition afterwards.

As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually please accept this acknowledgement as an expression of our deepest gratitude.

Joe's Months Mind Mass will be celebrated on Monday, the 1st of May 2023 in St Macartan's Church, Loughinisland at 7.30 pm and online at https://churchmedia.tv/st-macartans-parish
