The death has occurred of:
Gilbert Russell KIRKWOOD

Died February 27th 2016 peacefully at hospital. Much loved husband of Rhona, a loving father of Susan and Alison and sons in law David Gowdy and David McCracken, Grandfather to Jill and husband Gary, Emma and Sarah, Great Grandfather to Jake and Anna.

A funeral service will be held in Ballysillan Presbyterian Church on Thursday March 3rd at 11.30am, afterwards to Roselawn Crematorium for a family service.

Family flowers only please, donations in lieu if desired to Cancer Research UK, c/o Melville's, 315 Ballysillan Road, Belfast BT14 6RD. House private by request.

I had the privilege of working with Gilbert for many years in Sirocco Works and was a great admirer of his work and gentle personality.
He was always very helpful and took great interest in the wellbeing and family life of those he worked with.
