We, the family of the late Gerry McDermott, would like to express our sincere gratitude to everyone who sympathised and supported us following the loss of Gerry.
We have been overwhelmed by the support and kindness shown to us by our families, friends, neighbours and the wider community at this difficult time.
Thank you to all who called at our home, sent cards, messages, flowers and to those who brought food and helped during the wake, your kindness and generosity is greatly appreciated.
We would like to thank the Ebrington Hotel for providing delicious food at the wake and after the funeral mass.
We would like to thank Fr Ward and Fr McLaughlin for a lovely Requiem Mass and Michelle Conaghan for the beautiful music.
We extend our deepest thanks to Kieran, Willie & Gordon of W J O'Brien & Son funeral directors who managed Gerry's wake and funeral in the most professional and dignified manner. Your support and guidance were invaluable to us throughout this sad time.
Lastly we would like to thank all the NHS staff who cared for Gerry in Altnagelvin and ICU at the Royal. Not only did you care for Gerry but you cared for us, each and every day we sat at his bedside.
As it is impossible to thank everyone individually, please take this acknowledgement as a token of appreciation to all those who helped and sympathised with us during this time.
Gerry's Months Mind Mass will be celebrated in St Columb’s Long Tower Church, on Friday the 26th July at 7.30 pm. Everyone welcome.
