With great sadness, I write this note in remembrance of an outstanding, honorable, kindhearted man, Eric Slane. Eric was my father's best childhood friend. I always looked up to him as an uncle. Even though we moved to the USA, that didn't end a lifelong friendship. I looked forward to our phone chats where we'd talk about our families, his love of his country, my newly found passion for gardening, and so on. My husband and I had the pleasure of staying with Heather and Eric, six years ago, when we made a lot of fond memories.
As I end this note, I will always remember Eric's laughter and his witty tales of Lachlan and Quinn. Our heartfelt condolences to the love of his life, Heather, Andrew, Neill, and their families at this very difficult time.

So very sorry to hear this news. Eric was a wonderfully kind person, such a gentleman and a much-loved best friend to my father, Norman Jackson. Will be thinking of you, Heather, and your family in the days ahead.
