PHOENIX Éamon Dr. R.I.P. Passed away peacefully at home on the 13th November 2022 surrounded by his loving family. Dearly beloved husband of Alice, devoted father of Mary Alice, much loved father-in-law of Stuart and cherished grandfather of Nicole. Late of 10 Malone Court

Sacred Heart of Jesus have Mercy on his soul.

Éamon’s remains will leave his family home on Friday 18th November at 12.30pm to arrive at St Bridget’s Church, Derryvolgie Avenue, for 1.00pm Requiem Mass. Burial to follow in Blaris Cemetery, Lisburn.

Deeply regretted by his sorrowing wife, daughter, son-in-law, granddaughter, and wider family circle. House strictly private.

I was shocked to hear of Éamon’s untimely death, having heard him in full flow at the Civil War conference in UCC last June. His research made an enormous contribution to our understanding northern nationalism and his sensitive role in the commemorations was highly significant. The Old Newry Society has fond memories of Eamon bringing to life the stories of many of those buried in Frier's Bush Graveyard, Belfast in June 2019. Condolences to all of Eamon's family.
