February 20, 2017, (suddenly), at home, beloved son of the late David and Susanna, Moygashel and dear brother of the late Ethel.

Funeral Service in St. Anne’s Church, Dungannon on Thursday 2nd March at 12.30 p.m. Followed by interment in Coolhill Cemetery.

No flowers, letters or cards please. Donations, if desired, payable to N.S.P.C.C., c/o Holmes Funeral Directors, Tyrone House, 2 Ballygawley Road, Dungannon, BT70 1EL.

Much missed by his nephews Christopher, Jonathan, David and families.

We are such stuff as dreams are made on, and our little life is rounded with a sleep.

If you're fortunate you meet at least one person during your lifetime who leaves an indellible mark. In my case, I met him at the age of 12, as a first year at what was then Dungannon High School for Girls. He was my English teacher and his name was David Cranston.
He taught me for all but one year of my grammar school education and helped foster my passion for language and communication. He also instilled in me a love of Shakespeare. I had the pleasure of bumping into him regularly in later life and was able to tell him what a positive impact he'd had on me as a student and as a person.
His passing has filled me with sadness. Thank you, sir, for being such a magnificent teacher and a kind and generous man. I will miss you.

David, a very kind and inspiring human being, will be sadly missed. Will miss his entertaining chats and perspectives on many relevant issues, first as a first rate teacher (the best!) and then as a dear friend over many, many years. Was delighted to be able to meet up with him every few months since my recent return from living abroad.
Still can't quite believe he has gone. Will cherish the films and photos I still have of him.
