Sincere sympathies to all of Tony's family and friends from all the staff and his former student colleagues at Ulster University. Tony was a caring, inspirational and multi-talented individual. He brought humour, joy and was exceptionally helpful to all staff and students particularly with his IT and life skills when a mature student. He was not afraid to change career and give each new career his best, this marked him out as living life to the full. His Ulster journalism family' are deeply saddened by his loss and he will be in our hearts forever.
Dr Colm Murphy, Subject Leader in Media, Ulster University and all the staff and former student colleagues of Tony.

Tony was a kind and caring person who would always go the extra mile to help his peers. To lose him so prematurely is a terrible shock. I can only begin to imagine the heartbreak his family is enduring at this time. I worked with Tony at Citybeat/Q Radio and he was just a great guy. Professional, methodical, a forward thinker and very witty. I trust his family will find comfort in the many memories they will have of a truly decent human being. Over the last few days I have communicated with former colleagues who worked with Tony in radio. All of us are shocked and devastated by his passing.
