I had the pleasure of teaching with Fran in the EIC Maths department for the last 15 years. He was a kind and caring teacher and colleague and had a lovely wry wit. He was truly a gentleman and a gentle man. We will sorely miss him. My heartfelt condolences to Fran's family.
