The family of Brendan McDonnell (RIP) would like to offer our thanks and sincere gratitude for everyone, near and far, who have supported us in our time of sorrow and grief.

We would especially like to thank everyone who came to say goodbye to Brendan, who took the time to share precious stories, laugh and cry with us and to remember the husband, the father, grandfather and friend that he was.

To know that he was greatly loved and will be missed has been of great comfort to us all.

Thank you to everyone for the support that we have received, from the many calls, mass cards and unwavering help from friends and family – particularly those who helped us throughout the wake and at the funeral.

We are very grateful for the guidance and support from Fr Gerry Tremer and Fr David Moore who gave us strength to carry on through difficult days while our hearts were breaking and to Edward, Briege and Nuala whose beautiful music and singing during the funeral guided Brendan to his final resting place.

We also acknowledge the work and help of the gravediggers, and Conan and Pat from Lavery’s Funeral Directors who ensured that Brendan will now be forever at peace in his beloved Ardboe.

It is impossible for us to individually thank all the many, many people, particularly the nursing team at Fairfields Care Centre, who cared for Brendan in the last challenging years of his life and to everyone who has been with us during this long goodbye, but please know your kindness will never be forgotten.

Brendan McDonnell’s Month Mind Mass will take place in the Church of the Blessed Sacrament, Mullinahoe on Sunday, November 3rd, 2024 at 11:30am. Mass will be streamed via Church Webcam (link below).
